XOM Trashes EPA Carbon Ruling

Despite the fact that it’s getting hot in here, according to world climate researchers, ExxonMobil‘s (XOM) government affairs executive, Kenneth Cohen, is in the news today, talking down the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s announcement about carbon regulation yesterdayas a bad thing for industry overall. Cohen tells Bloomberg’s Joe Carroll and Tina Davis Seeleythat the EPA’s ruling that carbon dioxide emissions are harmful to human health, and the regulation it may prompt from the U.S. government, “would be more harmful to the U.S. economy and the oil industry” than the legislation pending in Congress on climate change.
