Stocks to Watch Friday: New York & Co.

CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Shares of New York & Co. and Scholastic Corp. are among the stocks that could see active trading on Friday.

S&P 500 returns to the 1,400 level

New York & Co.NWY �, a women�s clothing and accessories retailer, posted a fourth-quarter net loss from continuing operations of $10.9 million, or 18 cents a share. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had expected a per-share loss of 21 cents.

Scholastic Corp. SCHL � shares rose 13% Thursday after the children�s book publisher posted better-than-expected fiscal third-quarter results, fueled by strong sales of �The Hunger Games� book series. The company also lifted its full-year earnings forecast.

ReneSola Ltd. SOL �is seen reporting a loss of 30 cents a share on revenue of $137.8 million, according to a consensus poll of analysts by FactSet Research.

China Sunergy Co. Ltd. CSUN �is expected to report a fourth-quarter loss of $1.18 a share on revenue of $91 million.
